LANCASHIRE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Hey, I’m Clare!

I’m a Lancashire wedding photographer who specialises in natural, relaxed wedding photography for couples who just want their day to feel like them. No awkward posing, no cheesy direction, no stiff vibes—just honest storytelling and real moments as they unfold. I work with couples across Lancashire, Manchester, and the North West who want a laid-back experience and photos that actually feel alive when you look back at them.

If you’re after a photographer who feels more like a friend with a camera (and maybe a built-in hype woman when needed), then you’re in the right place. Grab a brew, have a scroll, and let’s talk about creating something that feels completely true to your day.

What is a natural wedding photographer?

There are so many photography buzzwords floating around—documentary, reportage, photojournalistic, relaxed, candid… it can all sound a bit much, right? Honestly though, they all pretty much point to the same thing: natural wedding photography that documents your day as it actually happens, without forcing anything.

As a Lancashire wedding photographer, my approach is very much about blending in and letting things flow. I don’t stage moments or interrupt the energy of the day. Instead, I’m watching, anticipating, and capturing things as they naturally unfold. You’ll never hear me shout “say cheese” (not even once). I’m far more interested in real reactions, belly laughs, happy tears, and all those in-between moments you might miss while you’re busy living them.

How I approach a wedding day

My approach is simple—keep things relaxed and let the day do its thing. I’m not there to take over or turn your wedding into a photoshoot. I’m there to document it honestly, in a way that reflects how it actually felt.

That said, yes—you’ll still get your family group photos. I know those “mantelpiece shots” matter (and let’s be honest, they’re getting framed and gifted at Christmas whether anyone likes it or not). I always suggest keeping group photos nice and simple though. The fewer we do, the quicker they’re done, which means more time back enjoying your guests… and more time for me to catch those proper natural, laughter-filled moments.

Couple portraits (the bit everyone worries about)

Couple portraits might feel a bit daunting at first, but honestly, they’re one of the most chilled-out parts of the day. It’s usually the first moment you both get to properly slow down, take a breath, and just be together.

We keep it short and simple—usually around 10–15 minutes. Just a little wander away from the buzz of the wedding breakfast or drinks reception. Nothing forced, nothing overly posed. I’ll give you a bit of direction here and there (because let’s be real, nobody knows what to do with their hands), but mostly it’s just about you two being yourselves while I do my thing.

I basically turn into your personal hype person at this point—keeping things light, making you laugh, and creating a bit of space where you can just relax into it. It’s not about perfection, it’s about connection, movement, and capturing you in a way that feels natural and real.

“During our wedding day, Clare’s skills at putting our awkward natures at ease were amazing. Our friends and family all thought she was fantastic and brought an extra level of joy to our day. We all had such a laugh with her that she felt like another guest we'd known for years!”
