Hello, from your manchester wedding photographer!
Hey, I’m Clare
I’ve had a camera in my hand since I was about 16, and what started as a bit of curiosity quickly turned into a full-on obsession. I was that person photographing everything—friends, random days out, anything I could point a lens at. That curiosity eventually led me to move down to Farnham to properly study photography, and that’s where everything really clicked (pun intended). From that point on, it stopped being a hobby and became something I genuinely couldn’t imagine not doing.
These days, I work as a Manchester wedding photographer, covering weddings across the North West, Lancashire, the Lake District, and throughout the UK. My whole approach is based around natural, relaxed wedding photography—nothing forced, nothing overly staged. I’m all about capturing real moments as they happen, so when you look back at your photos, they feel like your day, not a version of it.
Outside of weddings, life is pretty full-on in the best way. I’ve got two absolute whirlwinds, aged 11 and 7, who bring a lot of noise, chaos, and laughter into everyday life. They definitely keep me grounded (and constantly moving), and I think that’s a big part of why I approach weddings the way I do. I’m used to things not being perfect or polished—and honestly, that’s where the magic usually is. When we’re not doing the school run, we’re usually baking something overly ambitious, knee-deep in a craft project, or heading off on some kind of mini adventure. I’m a big believer in making ordinary days feel a bit more fun, and that same energy carries straight into my wedding photography.
I’m also massively into anything DIY. I love making things, fixing things, and figuring stuff out as I go along. I’ve even been on a plastering course (which feels very niche but very useful), and I’m currently slowly renovating my house bit by bit. It’s definitely a work in progress, but I actually love that process—getting stuck in, making a mess, and seeing something come together over time. It probably says a lot about me that I enjoy both the chaos and the end result.
Fuel-wise, I run almost entirely on tea. Strong, builder’s tea, constantly on the go. Add cake into that equation and that’s basically a personality trait at this point. Evenings are usually spent at the table with “just one more brew”, working on something random, editing photos, or planning the next thing. It’s not glamorous, but it’s very me.
I’m also a huge Gavin & Stacey fan and will drop quotes into conversation without thinking. If your name’s Dave… I’m sorry in advance. It’s nothing personal (…well, maybe a bit).
More recently, I’ve got back into snowboarding after a bit of a break and I’m fully obsessed again. There’s something about it that just clears your head completely—bit of freedom, bit of “this might be a terrible idea” energy. Safe to say I love it.
At home, we’ve got Socks, our long-haired cat with tiny white feet (the name was inevitable), and Cookie, our Syrian hamster, who I’m probably way too attached to—but I’m fine with that, I love that little fluff ball.
When it comes to weddings, everything I’ve just said kind of feeds into how I work. I’m not about perfection or putting on a show. I’m about real people, real moments, and capturing things in a way that feels honest. Whether it’s a big wedding in Manchester, a relaxed barn wedding in Lancashire, or an intimate Lake District celebration, my aim is always the same—tell the story of your day in a way that feels natural, fun, and completely true to you.
If you’re looking for a wedding photographer who’ll blend in, keep things relaxed, and capture your day without turning it into a photoshoot, then we’ll probably get on just fine.
Do you think we are going to get on like a house on fire? Brill, then come and take a look at some weddings HERE.
