Wildwood & Eden Tipi Wedding Photographer
Ellie & Paddy’s Wildwood & Eden tipi wedding in Scarborough was one of those days that just felt like a proper little adventure from start to finish. Coastal weddings always have something a bit special about them, and this one had it all—sea air, open skies, loads of personality, and that laid-back festival vibe that just makes everything feel easy. As a Scarborough wedding photographer (and someone who absolutely loves a tipi wedding), this was right up my street.
Wildwood & Eden is such a unique Yorkshire wedding venue, especially if you’re after something outdoorsy and a bit different. Tucked away near the coast, it gives you that perfect mix of countryside and seaside, which is a bit of a dream combo. You’ve got wide open space, views for days, and then the tipi itself bringing everything together in a really relaxed, intimate way. It’s ideal for couples who want a wedding that feels more like a gathering than a formal event.
From the very beginning, the whole day had such a chilled, happy energy. Ellie was getting ready with her friends, music on, lots of laughter, and those little in-between moments that I always love capturing. Meanwhile, Paddy and the lads had that mix of excitement and nerves going on—always a good combo for some great candid shots. Those early parts of the day are such a big part of the story, and they set the tone for everything that follows.
Ellie looked incredible—her dress moving perfectly in the coastal breeze, which honestly just added to the whole vibe of the day. Nothing felt overdone, just really natural and completely her. Paddy, on the other hand, didn’t stop smiling all day, which made my job very easy. You could just tell how much they were both soaking it all in.
The tipi at Wildwood & Eden looked incredible too. Natural wood tones, soft textures, fairy lights—it had that perfect balance of cosy and open. Guests were free to move around, grab drinks, chat, and just enjoy the space, which really added to that relaxed, festival-style wedding feel. No rigid structure, no pressure—just people having a genuinely good time.
From a photography point of view, this kind of wedding is ideal. As a Yorkshire wedding photographer who focuses on natural, documentary-style photography, days like this are where everything just flows, observing, blending in, and capturing the moments as they happen. The laughs, the hugs, the barefoot dancing later on—it all tells the story far better than anything staged ever could.
As the evening rolled in, the tipi transformed into this warm, glowing space. Fairy lights on, music up, and the dance floor slowly filling. Before long, it was full-on party mode—barefoot dancing, loads of energy, and that kind of atmosphere where no one’s really checking the time anymore. Exactly how it should be.
Coastal tipi weddings like this are easily some of my favourites. You’ve got the unpredictability of the weather, the ever-changing light, and that mix of wild and relaxed energy that you just don’t get anywhere else. It gives you so much freedom to create something personal and completely unique.
Ellie & Paddy’s Wildwood & Eden wedding in Scarborough was such a perfect example of fun, free-spirited, a bit windswept in the best way, and full of genuine love and laughter. As a Scarborough and Yorkshire wedding photographer, it’s definitely one that sticks with you—and one I won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
