Hidden River Barn Wedding Cumbria

Tarah and Dan said “I do” at their wedding at insanely beautiful Hidden River Barn up in Cumbria—and honestly, it doesn’t get much better than this. Picture a sprawling slice of countryside, with a massive barn that blends rustic charm and industrial edge like it was made for weddings. Think steel beams, warm wood everywhere, and serious wow factor. Oh, and if your guests fancy staying over? They can crash in the cosiest little barns dotted around the estate. It’s the kind of setup that makes you want to stay forever.

Now, this was my first time shooting at Hidden River wedding Barn, and let me tell you—it absolutely delivered. We’ve got some pretty amazing wedding barns in the UK, but this one? Next level. Walking in, you’re hit with these insane loft-style ceilings, exposed steel, timber-clad everything, and the kind of natural light photographers dream about. Whether it’s the upstairs ceremony space or the wide-open reception area below, every inch of it is just ridiculously photogenic.

The venue already does a lot of the heavy lifting on the style front, but Tarah and Dan took it up a notch. They added their own personal flavour in the coolest way. Their seating plan? Made from records—such a fun nod to their love of music. And the tables? Covered in wild, untamed foliage that gave the whole place this effortlessly rustic vibe.

Outside, guests soaked up the laid-back vibes by the stream, wandered the grounds, and took full advantage of the mini crazy golf setup Tarah and Dan had laid out. It was one of those summer days where everything just felt easy and full of joy.

When the sun dipped and the lights came on, the party properly kicked off. The Wayfarers Folk Band hit the stage and lit the place up. Tarah and Dan led the charge on the dance floor, and before long, the whole wedding crowd was up and moving. It was loud, it was fun, and it was exactly the kind of ending their day deserved.
