Ducie Street Warehouse Wedding
Manchester Wedding Photographer
John & Ed’s Ducie Street Warehouse wedding in Manchester was honestly an absolute dream to capture. The celebration was split across two days, starting with a really intimate wedding in York the day before, before heading over to Manchester the day after, for their main celebration with friends and family at the iconic Ducie Street Warehouse. As a Ducie Street Warehouse wedding photographer, days like this are exactly my kind of thing—relaxed, stylish, and full of personality.
Ducie Street Warehouse is such a standout Manchester wedding venue if you’re into that modern industrial, mid-century kind of vibe. It’s got this really cool, laid-back energy while still feeling super design-led and unique. John & Ed chose it perfectly for exactly that reason—it’s got charm, character, and that effortlessly cool atmosphere that works so well for a city wedding in Manchester. The added bonus of on-site accommodation also made everything really easy for guests, especially with everyone staying over and continuing the celebrations late into the night.
The day itself had so many brilliant spaces to work with. The drinks reception took place in The Library, which is this beautifully styled mid-century inspired space—honestly one of the most unique wedding settings I’ve seen in a Manchester wedding venue. From there, guests moved into the adjacent dining room for the wedding breakfast, which was bright, modern, and full of that same retro-inspired styling that runs throughout Ducie Street Warehouse.
After the meal, everyone gathered in the Atrium for group photos and family formals. That space is something else entirely—glass floors, a central open atrium, and a huge glass ceiling that floods everything with light. It gives the whole wedding a completely different feel and is perfect for natural, relaxed wedding photography in Manchester, especially when you want something a bit more architectural and dramatic without feeling stiff.
Once the formal bits were done, I took John & Ed for a wander around the venue for some relaxed couple portraits. We explored different areas of the building, making the most of all the textures, plants, and interiors, before ending up back in the bar and Jungle area where guests were all hanging out. That space is amazing too—packed with greenery and a really chilled atmosphere, perfect for candid, documentary-style wedding photography.
As the evening rolled in, the energy really picked up in Room 1 and the party properly kicked off. Everyone was up on the dance floor, the vibe was brilliant, and it just turned into one of those full-on celebrations where nobody wants it to end. To top it all off, guests were treated to Gooey doughnuts as favours, which went down an absolute treat and added a fun finishing touch to the day.
Ducie Street Warehouse is one of those Manchester wedding venues that really delivers if you want something stylish, modern, and a bit different. John & Ed’s wedding was the perfect example of how good it can be when the venue, the styling, and the energy of the couple all come together—and it was an absolute joy to capture from start to finish.
