Delamere Events Wedding
Cheshire Wedding Photographer
Lucy & Tim’s festival tipi wedding at Delamere Events in Cheshire was honestly such a vibe from start to finish. Set right by Cherry Orchard Lake, it had that proper laid-back festival feel, but still with loads of personality, colour, and really thoughtful details running through the whole day. It’s one of those weddings that just feels fun from the moment you arrive, with everything set up to make the most of the outdoors and that relaxed summer atmosphere.
As a Cheshire wedding photographer, days like this are an absolute dream to document. The whole wedding was packed with colour and texture, starting with Lucy’s incredible boho-style broderie dress, finished with a pink ombre dip-dyed cape that tied everything together perfectly. That same ombre feel carried through into her flower crown and bouquet too, with soft white-to-pink tones and a beautifully handcrafted macrame bouquet wrap that added even more of that handmade, personal touch.
The attention to detail throughout the tipi setup was next level. Everything felt really considered but still relaxed—macrame pieces everywhere, from plant pot hangers to bar decorations and even personalised “his and hers” chair covers. It had that perfect mix of DIY creativity and festival wedding styling, which made it such a strong visual story to capture. There were also loads of personal touches sprinkled throughout, like hand-painted signage and a homemade wedding cake featuring a little model of their campervan “Blue”, which was such a cool nod to them as a couple.
The ceremony itself took place outdoors with a humanist celebrant, set against a handmade triangular altar overlooking the lake. It was simple, meaningful, and really fitted the whole energy of the day. Straight after, everyone celebrated in proper style with tequila shots, which pretty much set the tone for the rest of the day—fun, relaxed, and full of energy.
Guests got stuck into competitive garden games in the sunshine, and as the day rolled into the evening, the whole wedding shifted into a proper party. Lucy, Tim, and even the wedding party all changed into sparkly outfits, which just added to that festival feel as the sun went down. The first dance was a real highlight too—choreographed, full of energy, and ending with a pretty epic lift that had everyone cheering.
It was one of those weddings that just kept building all day, from chilled lake-side ceremony to full-on festival celebration. No surprise it ended up featured on the Whimsical Wonderland Weddings blog either—it was a proper standout Cheshire tipi wedding with loads of personality and heart.
