ABC Roof Deck & Dome Wedding Manchester
Katie & Lucia’s ABC Roof Deck & Dome wedding in Manchester was an absolute feast from start to finish—full of colour, energy, and so much personality. It’s one of those city centre weddings that just sticks with you. As a Manchester wedding photographer, I get to see some incredible venues, but the ABC Buildings (and especially the Roof Deck & Dome) really do stand out if you’re after something modern, light-filled, and a bit different.
The day kicked off at the super stylish Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester city centre, which is such a great spot for wedding prep. Loads of character, amazing interiors, and plenty of natural light—basically everything you want for those relaxed, behind-the-scenes moments in the morning. Katie & Lucia got ready there with their bridal party, and the whole vibe was calm but buzzing with excitement. We even managed to sneak in a few portraits around the hotel before heading out, which is always a bonus.
Transport for the day? A VW camper, obviously. Which just added to the whole feel of it—fun, a bit different, and totally them. We jumped in and made our way over to the ABC Buildings. If you’ve never seen it, the ABC Roof Deck & Dome is such a unique Manchester wedding venue. It’s got this amazing curved glass roof that floods the space with natural light, and you’re surrounded by the city skyline, which gives it that proper urban wedding feel.
The ceremony and drinks reception took place up on the roof deck and inside the dome, and it was just chef’s kiss. The mix of English and Spanish influences throughout the day brought so much colour and energy into everything—from the styling to the atmosphere. It felt vibrant, warm, and full of life, which came through in every part of the celebration.
One of the standout moments from the drinks reception was the live acoustic set from @elprimojuanoficial, which completely set the tone. It didn’t take long before people were up dancing, drinks in hand, soaking up the sunshine and the city views. Add in the incredible vegan food from @elleslaterfood, and it was one of those receptions where nobody really wanted to move on from it.
At one point, we hopped back into the camper and headed over to Castlefield for some couple portraits. That area holds a bit of sentimental value for Katie & Lucia, so it was really nice to bring that into the day. We wandered around under the bridges and along the canal, keeping things super relaxed and natural. That mix of industrial textures, water, and city backdrop makes Castlefield such a great spot for photography, especially if you want something a bit more urban and gritty to contrast with the light-filled dome.
As the day moved into the evening, we headed over to The Stables, another brilliant Manchester wedding venue tucked away amongst the city’s high-rises. It’s got a more rustic, industrial feel, which worked perfectly as a transition from the bright, airy daytime vibe at the dome to a more intimate, party-ready atmosphere. The whole day flowed really naturally from one space to the next, which is always a sign of a well-thought-out wedding.
Once the evening kicked in, it was full-on celebration mode. The dance floor was busy, the energy stayed high, and it just had that proper “this is what weddings are about” feeling. No pressure, no overthinking—just everyone having a great time.
Looking back, Katie & Lucia’s ABC Roof Deck & Dome wedding in Manchester is definitely one that stands out. It had everything—an incredible city centre setting, unique venues, loads of personality, and a couple who just fully embraced their day. As a Manchester wedding photographer, these are the kinds of weddings I love—creative, relaxed, and completely true to the people at the centre of it.
Massive thanks to Katie & Lucia for having me along to capture it all. It was such a good one.
