Summer Garden Wedding - Old Vicarage Boutique Hotel-76.jpg

Chris & Katie’s wedding day was a perfect summers day at the super chic, Old Vicarage Boutique Hotel in Nottinghamshire. The weather didn’t disappoint and neither didn’t Katie’s smiling face, who I’m sure must have had face ache with the ear to ear smile she had plastered on her face.

The Old Vicarage Boutique Hotel offers exclusive use and an ‘all in one location’ type of wedding where you can start the day off by getting ready in one of their sumptuous bedrooms which are styled beautifully might I add. Any of the bedrooms would be a perfect spot to get ready, but the bridal suite where Katie got ready was stunning. It’s the chilled out start to your wedding day that you want, and it really set the tone for Chris & Katie’s outdoor celebration.

When I first met with Chris and Katie, we were talking about getting married outside and with their wedding being in August we were hoping there would be a high chance of sun. Katie asked me what I thought of outdoor ceremonies and I flipping love them. Natural light wrapping around you while you say your vows, it’s a photographer’s dream. It also feels so rare to capture an outdoor ceremony where every element is perfect. Well this wedding, everything was perfect, there was no wind, the sun was a lovely temperature and the happy couple were beautifully back lit by the sun, ahhhh moments like this make me want to Chandler dance, you know the one.

The rest of the day was just a great, with the guests enjoying the outdoor seating areas, gardens and the children playing amongst the tree lined path towards the rear of the venue. This hotel offers a real relaxed family home vibe, with its cosy ‘posh’ living room for your guests to relax. The reception room is also super chic with its ample window light yet homely feel.

I have shot at this venue a few times now and each time it never disappoints to deliver. Thanks for having me along Katie and Chris, both of you were awesome from our first meeting. Katie, I loved your enthusiasm and that you kept me up to date with your wedding throughout and I also loved the non-wedding related updates like your fur baby Smokey. I really have made a friend in you and your sense of humour is flipping wicked! Here’s to more camera opportunities together.
