As some of you know I am a crafter, I love to sit with a big cup of tea making anything from Christmas decorations (is it too early to mention Christmas, ah well) to a felt cot mobile for my little Ted, I will try anything.
There are plenty of handmade alternatives for a wedding you can make yourself or get someone else to make, and today I want to talk about a floral alternative from FlowerDecoration.
Ksusha offers a wide range of floral alternatives, but I want to talk specifically about her paper peonies as I have a major soft spot for them. Peonies are known for being a feminine, fun and flirty flower, with their pastel shades and delicate structure, something you might not think could be replicated by paper.
How wrong is that assumption...just look at how Ksusha has managed to encapsulate all of these qualities, and better still, she can customise the colour palette to your wedding.
The rich colours of the examples above would look stunning at a winter wedding against warm woods and soft candle light, the possibilities are endless.
You could also dress the tables with the same flowers to keep a flawless look throughout the entire wedding, and don't they look beautiful accompanied with some simple sprayed jars.
Now this is where you think, go on, hit me with this whopping price tag. Well I think you will be pleasantly surprised. For 7 blossom peonies and 4 boutons, that are near 3,5 inch in diameter, with thick stems, length at 16". Decorated with ribbon and made from high quality crepe paper. All this is £36.57! Yes that isn't a typo. So if you want handmade paper flowers, but don't think you have the time or patience then seriously, go and check out FlowerDecoration.
Alternatively, if you think you are up for a floral challenge, there is a great book out there (that I own myself) called 'Paper to Petal' and they have a huge selection of flowers that you can create at home with step by step visual instructions and I would definitely recommend it.
Thanks everyone for reading and let me know if this has helped your floral journey, I would love to hear.
